Exiger is seeking a motivated, self-driven Senior Database Administrator who designs, builds and optimizes database, works within a continuous integration and delivery pipeline, and embraces test automation as a discipline. You will manage core transactional databases and cloud data platforms, ensuring they are secure, performant, resilient, and aligned with our data strategy. You’ll work closely with engineering, data, and security teams to support new product features, data initiatives, and ongoing operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:

  • Architect and evolve cloud-native data platforms for production and analytics (RDS, Snowflake, S3, Iceberg, Trino/Athena).
  • Drive architectural changes to improve scalability and reduce cost, including migration to open, storage-centric designs.
  • Own performance optimization across data workloads, partnering on query, schema, and data model improvements.
  • Lead modern data architecture beyond traditional databases (data lakes, open table formats, decoupled compute).
  • Design and own high availability, disaster recovery, and multi-region strategies, balancing resilience, performance, and cost.
  • Apply FinOps best practices to analyze and optimize cloud data spend.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams.
  • Promote DevOps and platform best practices (IaC, automation, self-service, lifecycle management).
  • Define standards for scalable, reliable, and cost-transparent data storage and access.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and governance across databases and lakehouse platforms.
  • Mentor engineers and DBAs on modern, cost-aware cloud data architecture.

Technical Environment

  • Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, and/or Azure
  • Managed and self-managed databases: Snowflake, MySQL, SQL Server
  • Lakehouse environments: S3, Iceberg Tables, Trino
  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation
  • Monitoring, alerting, and observability tooling: DataDog, Kibana
  • High-volume, highly regulated datasets

What You Need:

  • 8+ years of experience in database administration with increasing ownership of cloud architecture decisions
  • Deep expertise in cloud-based database design, cost and efficiency planning, performance tuning, and scaling strategies
  • Hands-on experience with high availability, replication, backup, and disaster recovery in the cloud
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and identity as it relates to data platforms
  • Experience supporting enterprise SaaS platforms with strict uptime and compliance requirements
  • Prior experience in compliance, risk, financial services, or data-intensive SaaS environments preferred

  • Industry leading health, vision, and dental benefits
  • Competitive compensation package
  • 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave
