We are hiring a Run Plant Engineer to join our Spruance Site Team located in Richmond, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for first level engineering support to a continuous manufacturing operation within Nomex®. This role will be heavily involved in daily and weekly production, both in process troubleshooting, escalation of gaps needing closure to meet area metrics, and initial scoping of process improvements (be it capability, technical, or product flow). The role is the first call for off hours process support and will work directly with senior MTs to develop deeper understanding of the process itself. The role will also be responsible for driving compliance to PSM, both in documentation and area performance. Key responsibilities include providing technical training and coaching to operations staff, process troubleshooting, understanding of analyzers and air monitors critical to regulatory and safety compliance, engineering support for Root Cause Investigations, collaboration across multiple departments, participation in Process Hazards Analysis, support for raw materials qualification or trials for new products, and driving solvent exposure reduction programs and projects. The role also involves tracking area productivity metrics, identifying performance gaps, and engaging maintenance and senior MT resources as needed. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in science or engineering discipline, manufacturing experience, Nomex® line of business experience preferred, and Process Safety Management experience.
