The Technical Writer serves as a vital link between the training organization and the manufacturing workforce at LEGO® Manufacturing Virginia. This role ensures that standard work documentation, process instructions, and training materials are accurate, consistent, and easily understood.

By translating complex technical processes into clear, user-friendly documentation, the Technical Writer enables operators to work safely, efficiently, and in alignment with LEGO®’s global standards. The role also supports trainer coordination, ensuring training programs, documentation, and process workflows are seamlessly aligned across molding operations. In addition, this role has responsibility for the CHAMP system, ensuring all materials and global updates are properly maintained and deployed.

Key Responsibilities

Documentation & Process Alignment

  • Create, revise, translate (as needed), and maintain Standard Work and technical documentation in accordance with LEGO® global standards.

  • Serve as reviewer and approver of official documentation within the molding division in collaboration with the Training Manager.

  • Simplify and communicate complex technical workflows into clear, practical guidance for employees.

  • Ensure the CHAMP system is consistently updated with accurate documentation, training materials, and standards.

  • Oversee the maintenance and integrity of CHAMP, including implementing new standards and updates as they are rolled out globally.

  • Lead and support documentation efforts during the introduction of new technologies and equipment.

  • Coordinate globally with other Technical Writers to align documentation standards, numbering conventions, and process workflows.

  • Act as an ambassador for Standard Work, promoting continuous improvement and process thinking throughout the plant.

Training & Coordination

  • Partner with trainers to ensure training materials align with work instructions and operational standards.

  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of training programs, ensuring employees acquire essential skills while upholding safety and compliance standards.

  • Support translation, uploading, and administration of training content.

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and direction for the educational process as needed.

  • Contribute to securing the apprentice pipeline by supporting training initiatives and alignment with educational needs.

  • Starting hourly rate $39.64
