Who we are:

Glydways is reimagining what public transit can be. We believe that mobility is the gateway to opportunity—connecting people to housing, education, employment, commerce, and care. By making transportation more accessible, affordable, and sustainable, we empower communities to thrive and unlock economic and social prosperity.

Our mission is to revolutionize transit with a solution that delivers high capacity, exceptional user experiences, unmatched affordability, and minimal environmental impact.

The Glydways system is a groundbreaking network of carbon-neutral, interconnected transit pathways powered by standardized autonomous vehicles on dedicated roadways. Operating 24/7 with on-demand access, it offers personalized and efficient mobility—without the burden of heavy upfront infrastructure costs or ongoing taxpayer subsidies.

With Glydways, we’re building more than a transportation system; we’re creating a future where everyone, everywhere, has the freedom to move.

About the Role:

We aren't just building components; we’re building a cohesive, high-performance machine. As our Vehicle Integration Engineer, you are the bridge between "what’s on paper" and "what’s on the road." You will own the functional flow, ensuring that hardware, software, and control systems don't just coexist but thrive together.  You’ll be the person who understands the gap between the "ideal" requirement and the reality of delivery, and you’ll be the one to bridge it.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Architect the Integration: Lead the clarification of system and product requirements for design integration. You’ll define the functional operation flows that make the product work in the real world.
  • End-to-End Ownership: You own the delivery. From hardware and software to manufacturing, reliability, and performance, you ensure the final product hits every mark.
  • From Concept to Concrete: Evaluate concepts using prototypes, lead vehicle bring-up, and manage vehicle-level integration for feature releases.
  • Influence the Blueprint: Participate in early-stage requirement discussions to influence HW, SW, and control designs, ensuring the architecture is optimized for holistic delivery.
  • Be the Delivery Authority: While others own the "ideal" requirement, you own the "actual" delivery. You’ll identify gaps, define mitigation strategies, and manage the technical reality of what the product can and will do.
  • Supplier & Team Synergy: Act as the technical point of contact for internal and external suppliers. When things go sideways, you’ll lead cross-functional teams through troubleshooting and root-cause analysis until the issue is resolved.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Full-Stack Prototyping: You have the initiative to independently source necessary hardware parts to enable specific functions. You don't wait for a kit; you find what's needed to prove the concept.
  • Hands-on Integration: You are comfortableputting the setup together. Whether it's a bench rig or vehicle integration, you can wire, mount, and assemble the physical environment.
  • Automated Validation: You can write scripts (Python or C++) to test module functions and automate functional validation, ensuring the "black box" does exactly what it's supposed to.
  • Technical Literacy: You read electrical schematics and mechanical CAD as primary languages.
  • Communication: You act as the technical liaison with internal and external suppliers, moving the needle on progress and resolving blockers.
