The Maintenance Controller is responsible for providing daily oversight of all functional and operational activities related to aircraft maintenance and assists the Site Manager in ensuring that daily operations align with contract requirements. This key role involves coordination, supervision, and technical guidance to maintain aircraft readiness and a safe operational environment.
 Location - Pax River Naval Base
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily oversight of all functional and operational activities of aircraft maintenance.
- Support and collaborate with the Site Manager to oversee daily operations and track progress toward meeting contract goals.
- Manage and guide maintenance personnel, ensuring adherence to standards, procedures, and timelines.
- Monitor aircraft statuses, track maintenance events, and oversee scheduling to maximize operational readiness.
- Utilize computerized maintenance programs (such as OOMA) to aid in maintenance control and decision-making.
- Ensure all maintenance is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations, technical instructions, and NAVAIR guidelines.

Requirements:
- Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in the aviation maintenance field.
- At least 4 years’ experience in a management or supervisory position.
- Additional Qualifications:
- Must have been a Maintenance Controller for a minimum of 2 years with previous documented “Safe for Flight” authority on CH/MH-53E.
- Must have completed the Naval Aviation Maintenance Control Management for Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activities (OOMA) Course (C-555-0053) or both the Naval Aviation Maintenance Control Management Course (D or E-555-0040) and the Naval Aviation Officer and Senior Supervisor NALCOMIS OOMA Familiarization Course (D or E-555-0054).
- Must have knowledge of computerized maintenance programs (OOMA).
- Active Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) certificate.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and manipulate 50lbs independently when needed.Â
- Must be able to climb on ladders if needed.
- Must be able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs.
- Position involves long periods of standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling on aircraft structure and around aircraft for maintenance functions.Â
- Position may require working in a confined workspace.
- Position my require use / exposure to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids and cleaning solvents.
- Position is located in a high noise area within an aircraft hangar / flightline environment.
- FIT for Duty Physical is required.
- May require DOT and Respiratory Physicals.
