Primary Responsibilities: Key responsibilities and required knowledge for the Fiber Optic Assembly Service I role include:

Requirements

  

  • Fiber optic cabling, including installation, splicing, polishing, cleaving, connectorization, testing, and termination (fusion and mechanical)
  • Electromechanical connectorization, assembly, and documentation
  • Use of Corning, EXFO, and Fluke test equipment
  • Installation and maintenance of Cat 6, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling
  • Maintenance of fiber and copper systems
  • Emergency restoration procedures for fiber and copper systems
  • Inspection and quality verification services
  • Troubleshooting of fiber and copper systems
  • Fiber documentation, industry standards, and installation best practices

Qualifications:

  • Ability to assemble or install equipment and components requiring basic wiring, soldering, or connections; 
  • Perform routine tasks and tests, such as tensile or hardness testing, operate and adjust basic test equipment, and record test data
  • Gather and maintain engineering records, perform calculations using established formulas, and plot data to create simple curves and graphs. To industry standards and installation techniques
  • Minimum 2 years' experience

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location.

NOTE:

  • The applicant selected for this position must have and be able to maintain an Active Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Applicants must have a valid driver’s license for this position and will be subject to verification.
