Position Summary: 

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for sourcing, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet the workforce needs of the tribal enterprise. This role requires a proactive and culturally respectful approach to recruiting that supports the long-term success and sustainability of the business and the tribal community it serves. The ideal candidate will possess strong networking, communication, and organizational skills, and demonstrate a commitment to tribal sovereignty and workforce development.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Promotes superior guest service
• Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
• Responsible for gathering qualified applicants that adhere to the ilani culture.
• Reviews applications and determines the applicant’s qualifications and suitability for employment. 
• Maintains records and prepares statistical reports concerning recruitment, interviews, hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
• Schedules and conduct pre-screening interviews with candidates on a daily basis as well as managing Human Resource Management through Workday.
• Maintains friendly and professional interactions with all applicants, team members, hiring managers, and completing all appropriate documentation and follow-up with candidates for employment.
• Confers with managers and supervisors to ensure that all hiring and employment practices comply with tribal, appropriate state, and federal laws.
• Ensures accurate tracking and record keeping in compliance with tribal, appropriate state, and federal guidelines. 
• In alignment with developing dedicated and passionate team members you will accurately track and execute on internal transfer, as well as referrals to Career Development.
• Manage the referral of candidates to the licensing portal process and ensure compliance with state and tribal gaming regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with HR team on onboarding and workforce planning initiatives.
• Develop and maintain recruitment sourcing partners and attend approved community hiring events. Tracks ROI for each event.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. 
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree plus a certification in Human Resources, and two (2) years of experience in recruitment and interviewing and knowledge of employment laws, or an equivalent combination of education and recruiting experience. 
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
• Strong knowledge of recruitment strategies, interview techniques, and sourcing tools.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and demonstrate cultural competence.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a “can do” approach and be able to recruit similar attitudes.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to learn HRM and ATS systems (specifically Workday).
• Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
• Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus.
• Workday experience preferred.
