The Supplier Scheduler provides international and domestic suppliers with consistent shipping information and advanced demand profiles to support our goal of just-in-time supplier deliveries.  It also is responsible for ensuring supplier deliveries meet production schedules to ensure our customer demand is met.  This position will also include part monitoring to meet inventory days on hand and make appropriate adjustments to manage volumes to market conditions.   

  • Control planned independent requirements and final responsibility and definition of demands to suppliers (internal and external)
  • Create, maintain of cancel schedule agreements based on MRP requirements
  • Verify planning, safety stocks, and active amendment of exceptional demands with planning manager
  • Properly maintains MRP Master Data for assigned components
  • Review current inventories in all plants, transfer products with SAP plants for best utilization of all inventories
  • Expedite and recovery plans for critical and past due products with pre-alert review of past dues.  Coordinate communications of production and delivery information between vendors and customer service
  • Coordinates supplier material order release with customer orders. Manages releases systems to ensure accuracy of direct material availability
  • Prepares cost estimates and performance reports
  • Maintains contracts with third party transportation providers and freight carriers to ensure proper handling of all shipments
  • Proactively resolves daily order issues which might impact production and customer deliveries
  • Maintains the most cost-effective shipping modes and schedules
  • Coordinates with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, supplier payments, etc.
  • Work closely with quality control to track and resolve supplier charge backs due to poor quality and communicate these to the supplier
  • Use internal processes and procedures to track and resolve supplier expenses due to past due events
  • Resolve pricing/invoicing issues with Accounts Payable
  • Work closely with Project Purchasing on pre-release
  • Manages the resolution of supplier pricing and delivery issues
  • Reconciles Invoice to scheduling agreements and receipt of goods
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, negotiating terms and contracts when necessary

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Finance, Science
  • Minimum 2 -3 years progressive experience in Material Scheduling in an automotive industry with shop floor experience, 5 years recommended
  • Thorough knowledge of MS 9000, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements

Skills:

  • SAP Sale & Distribution (SAP SD), SAP Production Planning (SAP PP), SAP Materials Requirement Planning (SAP MRP), SAP MCP, and other relevant SAP Supply Chain Applications
  • Lean Manufacturing Continuous Improvement
  • 5 years Automotive
  • Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain Activities
  • Strong Analytic Skills
  • 5 plus years SAP
