Industrial Maintenance Technician -DAY Shift!Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance and repair of production equipment within the manufacturing facility.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs Preventative and corrective maintenance for manufacturing equipment primarily rotating and fixed mechanical equipment.
Assist with maintaining various process systems including chilled water, glycol, compressed air, HTF, etc. and associated equipment including reactors, industrial chillers, cooling towers, pumps, etc.
Maintain plant in operational state, addressing and completing repairs on any equipment or process systems that may be assigned, and helping maintain a clean work environment
Assist with the diagnosis of process system issues and implement solutions.
Support Facilities maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering projects
Communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor and identifies and corrects potential unsafe conditions.
Assist with install and repair of piping throughout plant.
Repairs electric, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits as needed. Replaces defective components to restore proper operation of equipment and mechanical systems.
Maintain equipment records and documentation
Tig/Mig/Stick welding. Certification preferred
Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals
Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
Familiarity with various process systems including chilled water, glycol, compressed air, HTF, etc. and associated equipment including glass lined reactors, industrial chillers, cooling towers, vacuum pumps, centrifugal pumps, etc.
Experience in repairing and preparing piping in various materials (Stainless Steel, Glass lined Steel, PVC/CPVC, PVDF, Fiberglass, etc.) and the ability to aid in installation.
Tig/Mig/Stick welding. Certification preferred
Basic electrical skill.
Knowledge of, or some experience with, preventative maintenance and routine repairs on various mechanical equipment, preferably from an industrial setting such vacuum pumps, centrifugal pumps, compressors, etc
Familiarity with a preventative maintenance program and adhering to a set maintenance schedule.
General construction knowledge and familiarity with a variety of commonly used tools and equipment.
General knowledge of other repair techniques for maintaining plant operations.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team under a supervisor, and follow relayed instructions.
Ability to assist others and learn new repair techniques, with the intent to eventually complete repairs independently.
Basic Computer Skills- Microsoft Office, SAP
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:
Formal Education: High School Diploma
Certifications: Two-year technical degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline or equivalent work experience
Years of Experience/Type of Experience/Industry: 5+ years equipment maintenance experience in industrial manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Ability to read and understand maintenance instructions and prints, perform math computations and computer data entry.
Ability to use mechanical and electrical drawings
Ability to operate forklift.
Ability to perform job tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, using ladders, and climbing stairways
Walk, sit, stand, kneel for prolonged periods of time
