The Material Expeditor supports the 777 Conversion Program and reports directly to the Project Manager. The Material Expeditor is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the timely flow of materials, tooling, and equipment required for aircraft conversion activities. This role maintains a thorough understanding of daily and weekly production requirements, reviews production BOMs, and ensures materials, tooling, and equipment are aligned with conversion schedules and production plans. The Material Expeditor collaborates with Planning, Operations, Customer Logistics, Purchasing, Tooling, Shipping, Receiving, Program Management, and other stakeholders to support workflow, track progress, and resolve resource constraints. Additionally, the Material Expeditor monitors inventory levels and material availability, taking proactive action to balance operational performance, inventory control, and financial objectives. Success in this role requires strong communication, a sense of urgency, exceptional customer service, and a collaborative team-oriented approach to ensuring production goals are achieved.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Â
- Ensure required materials and tooling are available for current and upcoming production activities by participating in daily production and planning meetings.
- Coordinate material demand with Purchasing and Customer Logistics, expediting critical parts through Receiving as needed.
- Provide daily material status updates and 5-day forecasts, notifying Project Managers and Planning when priority parts are available for issue.
- Maintain and manage the 5-day materials plan in collaboration with Planning and project teams.
- Oversee the staging of materials and tooling at hangar workstations following receipt and inspection approval.
- Maintain accurate, real-time part status in tracking systems and escalate shortages, damaged parts, or CSP issues to leadership.
- Coordinate rental and loaned tooling requirements with the Tool Buyer to prevent production delays.
- Communicate material status, operational priorities, and upcoming resource requirements to stakeholders.
- Promote and adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and workplace standards.
- Conduct daily staging area audits to identify and resolve discrepancies, excess materials, and housekeeping concerns.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.Â
- Minimum one (1) year of materials, inventory, logistics, or warehouse experience.Â
- Knowledge of aircraft parts, shop supplies, tooling, and inventory control practices.Â
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.Â
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.Â
- Valid driver's license.Â
- Ability to successfully complete in-house forklift training.Â
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Â
- Coursework or training in Material Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Â
- Experience using ERP systems such as Quantum.Â
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Â
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.Â
- Ability to move, lift, carry, and position materials and tooling as required.Â
- Ability to work standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing for extended periods.

- Forklifts and other material handling equipment.Â
- Computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications and ERP software (e.g., Quantum).Â
WORKING CONDITIONS: Â
- Work is performed in warehouses, hangar, and production environments.Â
- May be required to work varying shifts, overtime, weekends, or irregular schedules based on operational requirements.Â
- Exposure to industrial environments, including moving equipment, noise, and changing weather conditions when working in and around aircraft facilities.Â
