Production

Various duties to include but not limited to saw operation, micrometers, carpenter’s square, measuring tape, hand tools, overhead  cranes, gantry cranes, straight edge, broom, rags, plate handling equipment, spacers, standardized forms, banding tools, wagons, skids, marking devices, slings, clamps, Vac-u-lift, skim, shop sketches, mansavers, all trucks and computers scanners, Power truck, gantry, overhead, and high speed cranes, races, grabs, forms, marking devices and scrap tubs, mobile equipment, hand tools, measuring devices, radio controlled and all other cranes, brooms, shovels, crow bars, etc.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  Functions will vary, based on department.  Functions include, but are not limited to operate trucks and cranes to locate, lift, transport and position metal and materials for department;  operates plate saws to saw sheet, ingot, and plate to specified tolerances of length, width, squareness and diameter;  to act as a replacement for absences and to perform miscellaneous duties when not required as a replacement. Job position will be used to train employees in other jobs within the department; operates mobile powered equipment to locate, lift, position, transport and store various forms of aluminum, by-product, flux alloys, equipment, tools and materials. Weigh, truck and assembles various components of charges for furnaces; operates layoff crane to lay slabs, ingots, and plate on and off runout table. Operates and controls shears and related auxiliary equipment to reduce scrap to proper size, etc.
