Production Group Leader – 2nd Shift

As a Production Group Leader, you will serve as the first-line leader, supporting team members within your designated area. Your primary responsibility will be coordinating daily operations to meet production schedules while ensuring your team’s success.

Shift Details:

2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Occasional PAID overtime on Fridays (1:00 PM – 9:00 PM) may be required (currently about 50% of Fridays are worked)

Key Responsibilities:

Support and manage a team of 20-30 Production Associates.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging all team members to contribute.
Lead with respect, ensuring professional and constructive interactions.
Focus on waste reduction and skill development to enhance lean operations.
Ensure all employees receive proper training in safety, quality, equipment operation, and 6S.
Collaborate with technical staff to provide necessary support.
Set and achieve annual goals aligned with operational metrics.
Drive process improvements, reducing inventory and work-in-progress.
Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations concerns.
Work closely with Union Stewards on contract and disciplinary matters.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Experience & Education:

1–3 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment (preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations (preferred).
Proven ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
Internship, co-op, or relevant professional experience will be considered.

Skills & Abilities:

Self-motivated and goal-driven, with strong leadership and coaching skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Strong problem-solving abilities, encouraging proactive thinking and solutions.
Knowledge of process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban, and Lean manufacturing (preferred).

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stoop, bend, stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs without assistance.
