The position’s area of specialization is Physical Education and Health. This is a 9-month position committed to the academic and professional preparation of Physical Education and Health teaching majors.  Applicants are required to have a M.Ed., M.S., Ph.D., or Ed.D. in Physical Education or a closely related field at the time of appointment. Candidates with an M.S. or M.Ed. must have professional experience in the field. Candidates with a Ph.D. must have the ability and willingness to establish an effective research agenda with student involvement. Primary responsibilities include teaching physical education courses such as Personal and Community Health Problems, School Health Curriculum, Adapted Physical Education, and various teaching fundamentals courses. Other teaching responsibilities may include Sports Nutrition and Motor Learning. Additional expectations include advising students in the department; service to the college, department, and community; as well as active involvement in professional organizations.
