Job Duties:

  • Assists with the planning and facilitation of classroom programming and classroom coordination and organization for a early childhood education facility according to established curriculum

  • Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom

  • Updates and organizes individualized and developmental educational plans for children

  • Assists with basic technical and administrative classroom support

  • Documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

    Be at least

  • 18 years of age and meet DCF 251.05 (3) (g)

  • Experience working with young children.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff

  • Able to acquire Registry Certificate at a level 5 or higher or eligibility to register at level 5

  • Completed approved childcare course or willing to complete online within 6 months of start date

  • CPR certified within 6 months of start date

  • Successful completion of a post-offer employment test.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in early childhood or related field

  • Two years or more experience working with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool aged children in a classroom.

  • Knowledge of Department of Children and Families Division of Early Care and Education (DCF 251)

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations
  • Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom
  • Plans and facilitates classroom programming and schedules daily classroom activities for an early childhood education facility according to established curriculums
  • Evaluates individualized and developmental educational plans for children in collaboration with other stakeholders, as needed
  • Mentors new teachers and students

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

  • Experience working with young children.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff

The pay rate is $18 per hour

The selected candidate must be able to pass a post-offer employment test.

A six probationary period is required.
