Grimmway Produce Group is seeking a Machinist I responsible to manufacture precision parts needed for the construction, maintenance, repair, or alteration of conveyors, processing equipment, structures, etc., using: mills, lathes, drill press, radial arm drill, hand drill, grinders and hand tools. What You Will Need:
- Basic knowledge and some experience with vertical milling machines, engine lathes, drill presses and hand tools, required.
- Understanding of machine and tool functions, including their design, repair and maintenance procedures, required. Â Â
- Strong math skills, required
- Must be able to perform precise measurements and have attention to detail.
- Must follow company policies and procedures including Lockout/Tagout and proper PPE use.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends, required.
- Occasional local travel will be required depending on business need.
- Ability to read and understand written information in English, required.
- Remote work not available for this position.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets company policy, insurance, and DMV requirements.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment screening consistent with applicable state and federal law.
What Will Set You Apart:
- Valid Forklift Certificate, preferred.
- General knowledge of material and labor estimates, metals machinability, and use of metal alloys and other materials, preferred.
- Familiarity with design techniques involving principals in the production of precision technical parts from drawings and/or samples, preferred.
