Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team at Prosperous Health Lake Hughes.
The PA-C will collaborate with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses, therapists, and other providers to deliver psychiatric assessments, medication management, medical support, and ongoing care for patients with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric and medical assessments
- Evaluate symptoms, treatment response, and clinical stability
- Provide psychiatric medication management
- Monitor medication effectiveness and side effects
- Support medication-assisted treatment and stabilization programs
- Address routine medical concerns in a behavioral healthcare setting
- Participate in treatment planning and case reviews
- Coordinate care with clinical and nursing teams
- Support discharge planning and continuity of care
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Follow HIPAA, DHCS, accreditation, and organizational requirements
- Participate in quality-improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current California Physician Assistant license in good standing
- Current NCCPA certification
- Current DEA registration or ability to obtain
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to pass credentialing, background screening, and drug-testing requirements
Preferred Experience
Two or more years of experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
- Psychiatry or behavioral health
- Addiction medicine or substance use disorder treatment
- Inpatient or residential treatment
- Community mental health
- Integrated medical and behavioral healthcare
- Psychiatric medication management
- Medication-assisted treatment
- Co-occurring disorders
Knowledge of ASAM Criteria, trauma-informed care, and multidisciplinary treatment is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $95,000–$180,000 annually, depending on experience
