ABOUT THE ROLE
Techno is seeking experienced Safety Managers to provide field safety oversight for complex bridge and roadway reconstruction adjacent to active rail operations. The role will focus on excavation safety, crane picks, steel erection, traffic control operations, utility coordination, and compliance with rail worker protection standards.
This is a highly visible position requiring proactive leadership, regulatory expertise, and strong coordination with contractor teams.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Conduct daily safety inspections and audits of field activities
- Oversee excavation, paving, structural steel erection, crane operations, and MOT staging
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FRA, and agency safety standards
- Review contractor safety plans and Job Hazard Analyses
- Monitor outage-related safety controls for rail-adjacent work
- Lead safety meetings and incident investigations
- Coordinate safety oversight across multiple jurisdictions
QUALIFICATIONS
- CSP certification required; CHST preferred
- OSHA 30-Hour required
- Minimum 9+ years of heavy civil construction safety experience
- Experience providing safety oversight for roadway reconstruction and bridge replacement
- FRA Roadway Worker Safety familiarity required
- Experience working on MTA Construction & Development or LIRR projects preferred
- Strong documentation skills and experience working within digital reporting systems

The expected salary range for this role in the New York Metropolitan Area is $40 - $70 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
