Position Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely transporting raw materials, finished goods, and inventory throughout the facility while supporting warehouse operations and production requirements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product movement is accurate, timely, and compliant with all safety and quality standards.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced operating various types of powered industrial equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Essential Functions
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials throughout the facility.
- Supply production lines with raw materials to support uninterrupted operations.
- Transport finished goods to designated warehouse and storage locations.
- Accurately complete inventory transactions using warehouse management systems, scanners, or handheld devices.
- Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of materials using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with receiving, shipping, cycle counts, and inventory audits as required.
- Verify product quantities, labeling, and documentation before movement or shipment.
- Follow all food safety, quality, GMP, and company policies.
- Collaborate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to support operational goals.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environment.
- Ability to operate sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, and pallet jack equipment safely and effectively.
- Experience loading and unloading trailers.
- Basic computer skills and experience using inventory systems or scanners.
- Ability to accurately count, track, and document inventory.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current forklift certification.
- Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Knowledge of inventory control and cycle counting procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in warehouse and production environments with varying temperatures.
- Ability to safely operate equipment for extended periods
