About our property:

Moments away from the rest of the world, but a world away from it all, Stonewall Resort is a truly unique lakeside destination for vacations, meetings, weddings, reunions, and romantic getaways. Our rustic yet elegant Adirondack-style lodge and spectacular cottage collection is perched alongside quiet lake waters and the Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course, while surrounded by 1,900 picture-perfect, “Close to Nature” park acres. 

What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for someone passionate about boating, someone who is highly motivated, and customer focused to join our Dock Master. The successful candidate for this role will use their passion for boating and their love of engaging with people to guide guests with their boating excursion.  They will be responsible the supervision and upkeep of the marina and retail store.

Ensures safe operation for the vessel as outlined in the “Navigation Rules” book and is responsible for the safety of all passengers and crew. Responsible for the cleanliness of the vessel and follows all safety guidelines while fueling and pumping the sewage from the boat.

QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess a valid West Virginia Boaters Safety Card
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License
  • Must be service oriented.
  • Possess a working knowledge of watercraft.
  • Ability to communicate in written and oral forms.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to interact well with others in a professional manner.
  • Ability to adjust to changing environments and guest interactions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must be well groomed, with nametag on at all times while working on the property.
  • Must be well-mannered, display helpful attitude, greet guests when encountered show appreciation to the guest for being at the Resort, show willingness to help guests at all times.
  • Perform pre-run checks and prepares boat for each voyage, including starting engines, checking oil and filters, etc.
  • Performs cleaning duties on boat after each run to ensure that the boat is prepared for next run, includes sweeping of floors, emptying of trash, and restroom cleaning etc.
  • Inspects The Mosaic to ensure that vessel is a clean and a safe environment.
  • Inspects The Mosaic to ensure proper maintenance is being used to keep the vessel in good working condition.  Checks oil levels and filter condition.
  • Understands and performs basic troubleshooting tasks on engines.
  • Adheres to the rules of the road as outlined in the “Navigation Rules” book.
  • Inspects all life jackets and fire extinguishers to ensure that they are in the proper working condition. Ensures compliance of all guests with associated safety requirements.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork for tracking and submissions.
  • Secures and locks boat for storage.
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines administered by the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the WV Division of Natural Resources, and Stonewall Resort.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:      

To assist other departments as required.                                               Will perform additional duties as requested by the Outdoor Services Manager and Director of Resort Facilities.

TYPICAL SCHEDULE:

Their position requires primarily evening, weekend, and holiday work schedules.  However, there is variability in this program related to private events. Schedule changes and overtime with and without notice.

ENVIRONMENT:  In and out doors setting, sun, heat and rain.
