Cummins Clean Fuel Technologies is looking for a Paint Associate to join our 2nd shift team. Schedule is Monday- Friday 8 hours a day, 4pm to 12:30am. There is a shift differential included with 2nd shift.

 

SUMMARY: Responsibility for refinishing vehicles to meet pre-accident condition or industry standards of quality.  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The painter oversees paint department and assistants / prep-pers and reports to the production manager.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties beyond this representative listing may be assigned to the essential job duties and responsibilities of this position based on Company needs.

  • Make an effort to have an efficiency of 110% 115% or better every week.  44 hours flagged for every 40 hours clocked = 110% efficiency.    
  • Keep area safe and clean.
  • Follow all safety measures for personal and environment safety.
  • Wear all safety equipment for eyes (goggles), hands (gloves), face shields, lungs respiratory, and dust masks.
  • Examine damaged vehicles and estimates cost of repairs.   Reports any hidden damage to supervisor immediately. 
  • Report any lost or broken parts to the supervisor.
  • Maintain all body shop equipment in good safe working condition. 
  • Maintain spray booth and mixing equipment.  Keep mixing room in good working condition.
  • Check body repairs before primer is applied. 
  • Maintain a level of quality to industry standards.
  • Keep repaints to a minimum. 
  • Must remove all dirt and runs from painted area 2-3 dirt specks per panel.  
  • Clean paint areas and tools and equipment.
  • Maintain proper stocking levels of paint and materials. 
  • Maintain a 25% gross profit margin or higher on paint and materials.  
  • Color match (tint) and mix paint. 
  • Keep production manager aware of status.
  • Clean grease and dirt from product.
  • Apply masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated. 
  • Fill cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure.
  • Alert the production manager to any unusual problems and delays. 
  • Must demonstrate positive corporate citizenship and the Rush Driving Principles.
  • Maintain safe work environment.
  • Maintain professional appearance.

Education and/or Experience:  High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).   Minimum of 2-3 Years related work experience in a similar position. May substitute the equivalent combination of education and training.
