General Role Description
Set up, execute, and document the tests required for certification, validation, or RCA of low and medium-voltage inverters
Role Accountabilities
-Â Â Design, build, and maintain test setups, including AC/DC power sources, load banks, data acquisition equipment, and environmental chambers
-Â Â Select, calibrate, and verify the accuracy of the instrumentation used for testing
-Â Â Operate and program automated test equipment and data loggers
-Â Â Collect, analyze, and interpret test results
-Â Â Maintain meticulous records of all test activities, configurations, results, and observations
-Â Â Generate formal test reports for internal review and submission to NRTL or certification agency
-Â Â Serve as primary technical contact with third-party testing labs and certification agencies during the submittal and auditing process, as assigned
-Â Â Perform safety compliance, grid-support functionality, performance, and other testing as required
-Â Â Set up and conduct factory witness tests in accordance with client specifications and quality standards
-Â Â Maintain lab equipment, including safety equipment, and instrumentation such that it is functional and in calibration
-Â Â Ensure a safe and organized lab environment, recommending upgrades and training as needed
-Â Â Ensure proper safety equipment is available and in good working condition
-Â Â Maintain current safety qualifications appropriate to the assigned tasks
-Â Â Troubleshoot issues and recommend design changes based on test failures in collaboration with design engineers
-Â Â Recommend product upgrades and changes to promote safety and functionality
-Â Â Adhere to both Company and client safety requirements as required
-Â Â Ensure all testing is conducted in strict compliance with quality and safety protocols
-  Operate a forklift to move test equipment in place, such as a PV or ESS inverter, as needed

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent via education and/or work experience
- 2 years of demonstrated experience with commissioning, testing, or certifying low or medium-voltage inverters
- Demonstrated knowledge of power electronics topologies, control systems, and inverter operation
- Demonstrated experience in data acquisition and analysis tools such as Yokogawa or Dewesoft
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear report generation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting complex electrical and software issues independently for low and medium-voltage inverters
- Demonstrated experience with electrical equipment and electrical safety
- Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
- Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
- Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, up to 30%, sometimes with limited notice
- Ability to work in all elements, depending on the lab location, time of the year, heat, cold, rain & snow
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. periodically
Preferred Qualifications
-Â Â 10 years of work experience in the commissioning of low or medium-voltage inverters
-Â Â Demonstrated successful working relationships with foreign parents or subsidiary companies
-Â Â Demonstrated success coordinating the work of others to achieve assigned goals
-Â Â Demonstrated experience in setting up and operating laboratory power equipment
-Â Â Familiarity with low and medium-voltage inverter test and certification standards
-Â Â Certified Forklift Operator
