The Role 

The Platform DevOps Engineer for Fidelity Private Shares is a pivotal role for the continued success and growth of the platform. The Fidelity Private Shares team delivers innovative technology, robust industry experience and expertise, and seamless service to the start-up ecosystem through Fidelity Investments. 

In this role you will be hands-on leading the technology, architecture, implementation, testing, and delivery of the private market platform. You’ll work closely with the engineering team and product managers to support our platform and customers, as well as researching and developing new growth opportunities to expand on the strengths of the core technology. 

The Expertise and Skill You Bring 

• 7+ Years DevOps, infrastructure or related experience including software development 

• Deep knowledge of core AWS services such as IAM, VPC, EC2, RDS, Route 53, S3 and Linux OS 

• Demonstrated experience with configuration management and infrastructure management systems such as Terraform/OpenTofu, SaltStack and others 

• Solid understanding of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, CloudWatch and OpenTelemetry 

• Good understanding of web services, databases and related infrastructure 

• Practical and proven skill with programming and scripting languages such as Python and Bash 

• Background in building, maintaining and automating build and test pipelines with tools such as Jenkins. 

• Experience or exposure to container-based runtimes and orchestration tools such as Docker and AWS EKS /ECS 

• Proven understanding of networking and distributed computing concepts 

• Enjoys collaborating with other developers, pair programming, reviewing code and white-boarding problems 

• Excellent problem-solving skills, for when the playbook just doesn't cover it 

• Optimally work across teams and within pre-defined constraints to stand up a new stable service 

• Experience in multi-cloud environment is a plus 

• Security experience is a plus 

• Design and build our application infrastructure on AWS using a variety of technologies 

• Own the build and deploy process supporting CI/CD across multiple environments 

• Deliver internal infrastructure services such as monitoring, logging and alerting to internal users 

• Automating as much of the operational infrastructure as possible
