About the Role
The Disability Insurance Specialist plays a key role in supporting disability insurance sales across the organization. This position partners closely with independent insurance agents, helping them understand product options, design cases, and place business successfully. The role includes both inbound and outbound sales activities and requires strong communication skills, product knowledge, and relationship‑building ability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support independent insurance agents with product selection, carrier options, application guidance, case design, and underwriting questions.
- Conduct training sessions and webinars for agents and internal team members.
- Perform outbound sales outreach to promote disability insurance, including phone calls and emails to current and prospective agents.
- Build and maintain relationships with disability insurance carriers.
- Cross‑sell additional product lines to agents currently working with disability insurance.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market changes, and product updates.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure a positive and consistent agent experience.
- Complete an average of 100 illustrations per week.
- Make an average of 125 outbound sales calls per week.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant certification preferred.
- 1+ years of disability insurance sales or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
