Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is a 45-bed hospital that has served rural and suburban populations in Roaring Spring, Altoona, and parts of Blair, Bedford, and Huntingdon counties for 121 years. With a state-of-the art cardiac catheterization lab, Conemaugh Nason offers a range of inpatient and outpatient cardiac services close to home. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency care as an accredited chest pain center, and offers comprehensive outpatient, imaging, diagnostic, and specialty services.  How you’ll contribute 

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders. 
  • Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. 
  • May assist physicians with performing interventional procedures including fine needle aspiration and needle localization.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies. 
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. 
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Participates in ensuring compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations and applicable accreditations
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s), biopsies, stereotactic and special procedures. 
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. 
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
  • Keeps current with BiRad and follow-ups on all patients.

What we’re looking for 

Education: Associate’s degree Preferred; Graduate of a Program in Discipline - Required
License: KY State Radiation Operator; ARRT
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
