Position Summary 

The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for ensuring that our customers’ freight is delivered on time and damage free, while adhering to DOT regulations and maintaining strict delivery schedules.  This role is vital to our customer relations as they represent our company to customers.  The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for inspecting and securing loads, inspecting tractor(s) and trailers prior to departing Eastern Alloys' facilities.

 

Responsibilities & Duties 

  • Secures cargo properly and verifies loads for accuracy.
  • Communicates and coordinates with the traffic department on pickup and delivery schedule.
  • Maintains a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Completes and records pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and reports for any maintenance needed to management.
  • Performs daily maintenance of trucks(refueling, cleaning, etc.).
  • Complies with truck driving rules and regulations and follows all applicable traffic laws.
  • Reports on defects, accidents, and violations.
  • Plans routes and meeting delivery schedules and interact with customers in a professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Valid Class A CDL driver’s license.
  • 3+yearsof commercial driving experience.

 

Working Conditions 

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, and bend for extended periods of time.  This role will primarily work on the road.

The salary range offered for this position is a good-faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. Eastern Alloys, Inc. reserves the right to pay more or less than the stated range based on a variety of factors such as experience, geography, etc.
