  • Patient companion - visits in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or the Lucy Smith King Care Center.
  • Greet Visitors, answer phone, and interact with patients and families as needed at the Lucy Smith King Care Center in evenings or weekends.

  • Companion Volunteer - Provide emotional support and compassionate understanding to patients and their families. Whether it's staying with the patient so the family can take a break, reading to patients, or holding their hand, the help and support that our volunteers give is returned to them in countless ways. Visits may be in the patient's home or healthcare facilities.

  • Administrative Support - Administrative support members are necessary in helping St. Anthony's to function. They work in the office providing administrative support, assisting with the general secretarial functions, and helping with community projects.

  • Volunteer Ambassador - Represent St. Anthony's Hospice and help spread our mission at health fairs and other community events.

  • Eleventh Hour Volunteer - No one should die alone. Some patients in nursing homes may not have family or loved ones local. So, volunteers rotate time sitting with imminent patients; holding a hand, playing soothing music, reading scripture. Being a caring presence brings immeasurable comfort.

  • Skilled Volunteer Services - Share your talents, such as singing or playing instruments. Give a haircut to the homebound patients (current license required.) Assist with building wheelchair ramps when requested or performing light home maintenance projects.
