Mortenson is currently seeking a Field Engineer to join our Solar team that will be responsible for participating in the active management of construction project by problem solving, performing various processes and applying basic construction management or engineering techniques and analyses.Ā

Location: Texas or Florida

Ā 

Travel: This is a 100% travel position; locations may vary based on the project. Mortenson hires for a career and not a project. When your project is complete you will be assigned to another project.Ā

RESPONSIBILITIESĀ 

  • Provide pre-construction supportĀ 

  • Manage submittal and RFI processes for specific definable features of work (DFW), utilizing PMA and other programs completely to closure.Ā 

  • Evaluate and distribute project design and engineering documentsĀ 

  • Prepare team for site mobilization and research living arrangementsĀ 

  • Prepare turnover binder templates and assist with pre-mobilization kickoff meetingsĀ 

  • Arrange short form subcontracts with local entities (power, trailers, housing)Ā 

  • Draft subcontracts and purchase agreementsĀ 

  • Utilize Best Practice Database for SWIs, quality documents, prep meetingsĀ 

  • Manage QA/QC as per Project Quality Plan and oversee inventory processĀ 

  • Coordinate DFW prep meetings, inspections, and punch list final inspectionsĀ

QUALIFICATIONSĀ 

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experienceĀ 

  • Prior experience on construction job sites preferredĀ 

  • Current driver's licenseĀ 

  • Ability to independently apply principles and theories of construction management or engineeringĀ 

  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and documents (e.g., blueprints, design documents)Ā 

  • Basic knowledge of project management principles (scheduling, estimating)Ā 

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internetĀ

The base pay range for this role is $78,800 - $98,500. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Ā

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.Ā  This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.Ā
