Mortenson is currently seeking a Project Engineer I and II in our Power Delivery Solutions group with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Project Engineer will review, provide analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues with project team members and participants. Â

RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft personsÂ
Implement the pre-construction quality planÂ
Obtain and maintain construction permits; manage fee payments and recurring expensesÂ
Develop and maintain Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance ReportÂ
Manage, create, and distribute contract documentsÂ
Establish handling procedures for electronic documents (RFIs, correspondence)Â
Incorporate processes and procedures for project closeout phaseÂ
Manage testing and inspection processes for construction quality managementÂ
Implement three-phase inspection systemÂ
Establish reporting formats, protocols, schedules, and off-site testing proceduresÂ
Notify Project Manager and Superintendent of non-conforming test results or inspection itemsÂ
Manage submittals: set up register, obtain customer/architect approval, prepare transmittal forms, coordinate packaging, review, and processingÂ
Expedite submittals to align with project scheduleÂ
Communicate submittal process details to subcontractors and suppliersÂ
Issue submittal requirement lettersÂ
Provide periodic updates of submittal register to customer or architectÂ
Coordinate subcontractor details: verify insurance, prepare paperwork, request final paymentÂ
Develop and distribute RFIs and Change OrdersÂ
Define and implement procedures for posting revisions and updates to as-built construction documentsÂ
Incorporate subcontractor as-built documentation into contract document updatesÂ
Mentor, manage, and evaluate field engineersÂ
Determine alternative work methods as neededÂ
Coordinate safety and compliance for all team membersÂ
Maintain schedule of timelines and ensure completionÂ
Project Engineer I
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Â Â
Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management Â
Minimum of two years related construction experienceÂ
Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasksÂ
Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practicesÂ
Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skillsÂ
Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skillsÂ
Current driver’s licenseÂ

The base pay range for this role is $84,100 - $113,500
Â
Project Engineer II
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Â
Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experienceÂ
Minimum of three years related construction experienceÂ
Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively run multiple tasksÂ
Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practicesÂ
Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and analytical skillsÂ
Positive and professional attitude and customer service skillsÂ
Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesÂ
Current driver’s licenseÂ

The base pay range for this role is $93,400 - $126,100
Â
(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Â
Â
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.Â
