Quality Technician – 2nd Shift

Position Summary

The Quality Technician – 2nd Shift is responsible for supporting manufacturing quality operations through inspection, testing, documentation review, and process verification to ensure products meet customer specifications and company quality standards. This role works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify nonconforming material, support corrective actions, and maintain compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of products, components, and assemblies to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality documentation
  • Utilize measuring and testing equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain quality records in accordance with company procedures
  • Identify, segregate, and report nonconforming materials or products
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities related to quality concerns
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures
  • Conduct audits and verification checks on production processes and documentation
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of quality inspection or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and quality management systems
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within electronics, automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing industries
  • Familiarity with IPC standards, ISO standards, or quality management systems
  • Knowledge of inspection methodologies and statistical process control (SPC) preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shift
  • Frequent use of hands for inspections and handling materials
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed
  • Visual acuity required for detailed inspection work
