We’re hiring an Estimator to join County Prestress in Roberts, WI.

 

Job Summary:
The Estimator will be responsible for estimating duties, which include recording precast concrete material types and quantities, preparing accurate cost estimates based upon company standards and guidelines, writing proposals and qualifications that are job-specific, and submitting cost estimates for bidding while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.  

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for concrete construction projects and/or services.   
  • Maintain files and communication with stakeholders, teams, and customers.  
  • Perform quantity take-offs for concrete materials and labor, ensuring all necessary components are accounted for in the estimates.  
  • Solicit and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and accuracy of estimates.  
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to align estimates with project goals and budgets. Maintain changes to original requests in a timely and efficient manner.  
  • Recommend ways to make a product more cost-effective or profitable.  
  • Develop updated costs for current jobs under contract.  
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and suggest cost-effective alternatives to enhance project efficiency.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field  
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in commercial concrete estimating or a related role in heavy industrial manufacturing. Preferred project and industry-related experience in precast and prestress.  
  • Knowledge of how to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.  
  • Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, and costs.  
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.  
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and a collaborative team player with all levels of the business.  
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and internet-based applications  

 

Work Environment:

  • Work is typically performed indoors.
