We’re hiring a Welder/ Fabricator to join County Prestress in Roberts, WI.

 

Job Summary:

As a Welder/Fabricator, you will read blueprints, fabricate metal components, and perform welding operations (MIG, TIG, SMAW/Stick) to assemble structures and equipment. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of metals in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

You will operate equipment such as plasma cutters, grinders, cranes, and forklifts, ensuringall work meetsquality, safety, and welding standards.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
  • Cut, bend, shape, and assemble metal components using fabrication tools
  • Perform welding using:
    • MIG welding
    • TIG welding
    • Stick welding (SMAW)
    • Oxy-acetylene torch
  • Operate fabrication equipment including:
    • Plasma cutters
    • Ironworkers & shears
    • Drill presses & grinders
    • Overhead cranes & forklifts
  • Inspect welds to ensure structural integrity and code compliance
  • Work with a variety of metals (steel, stainless steel, copper, alloys)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Complete work orders, job documentation, and quality checks
  • Follow all OSHA and workplace safety standards

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of welding and fabrication experience
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Experience using fabrication tools and heavy equipment
  • Strong understanding of metal properties and welding safety
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Ability to lift materials and perform physically demanding work
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude
  • AWS Certification (American Welding Society) preferred

 

Work Environment:

  • Work is typically performed in an indoor fabrication/ shop
  • Exposure may include: [Noise, weather, machinery, chemicals, public interaction, etc.]

  • Typical work hours/shifts: Day shift
