The senior aviation component technical role is considered to be an expert and a leader. Personnel performing maintenance functions report to the Lead Technician and are responsible for performing maintenance and alteration tasks on civil and government aviation articles in accordance with current technical data provided in the manufacturer’s instruction for continued airworthiness, service bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
A sample of duties includes but is not limited to:
- Diagnose difficult intermittent failures
- Lead major and/or complex repairs
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting
- Solid functional testing abilities
- Able to identify manual discrepancies
- Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program Â
- Coordinate shop workflow schedule/functions/problems with the Lead Technician
- Work with Quality Manager to resolve/correct any maintenance related discrepancies.Â
- Ensure thorough familiarity with the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools and equipment used within their area of responsibility.Â
