Description

Summary of Position

Supports the Company Quality Systems to ensure compliance with Company requirements, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Responsible for executing and improving quality practices, supporting production, and delivering results consistent with the Quality Systems. Ensure worker safety and compliance with environmental regulations.


Duties and Responsibilities

Support the implementation and maintenance of Company quality systems in accordance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO14001, ISO45001, NADCAP Material Testing) 


Execute quality system activities including: 

  • Document control support 
  • Nonconformance management       
  • Customer complaints
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Supplier management 

Interface with production to ensure product quality and process compliance: 

  • Review in-process and final inspection results 
  • Support disposition of nonconforming material 
  • Drive timely entry and closure of quality events 

Participate in internal and external audits: 

  • Support audit preparation and execution 
  • Assist in response development and corrective action follow-up 

Support customer and supplier quality activities: 

  • Assist with customer inquiries, complaints, and corrective actions 
  • Participate in supplier qualification, audits, and performance monitoring 

Collect, analyze, and report quality data: 

  • Track key quality metrics (scrap, rework, defects, trends) 
  • Support reporting for monthly, quarterly, and annual quality reviews 

Participate in evaluation of new products and processes to ensure quality and compliance 


Support development and improvement of procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation 


Work closely with laboratory and production teams to ensure testing, inspection, and certification requirements are met 


Promote a culture of safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement 


  

Reports to: Quality Manager 

Direct Reports: None  

  

Performance is evaluated based on:

  • Timely and effective resolution of quality issues 
  • Accuracy and completeness of quality documentation and records 
  • Contribution to continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Support of audit readiness and compliance 
  • Alignment with safety, environmental, and quality system requirements 

Requirements

Qualifications
  • BS – Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or similar technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), SPC software (Minitab, JMP, etc.) 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (production, lab, engineering, suppliers, customers)
  • Will consider strong entry-level candidates with internship or co-op experience, 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment preferred 
  • Working knowledge of quality systems (e.g. ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO/IEC 17025, NADCAP) preferred 
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, AS9100 and/or ISO9001 certified internal auditor, Lean 6s experience preferred


Physical Requirements
  • Ability to read, speak, hear, and understand English throughout each day
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, handle documents, and perceive depth/ colors accurately
  • Ability to occasionally lift/ carry 25 pounds and use foot controls to drive around company campus
