Caladwich Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Alternate Distribution Project Manager to support Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution warehouse and distribution operations. Working alongside the Distribution Project Manager, the Alternate Distribution Project Manager provides operational oversight, administrative support, and project coordination to ensure efficient execution of contract requirements and uninterrupted mission performance.

This position offers the opportunity to play a critical leadership role in supporting one of the Department of Defense's largest logistics organizations by coordinating daily warehouse operations, monitoring contract performance, and serving as the secondary point of contact for Government stakeholders.

Core responsibilities

· Assist the Distribution Project Manager in overseeing warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring contract performance meets operational objectives. 

· Coordinate personnel, schedules, purchasing activities, reporting requirements, and administrative functions supporting daily operations. 

· Monitor production metrics, staffing levels, and workload priorities while helping implement operational improvements. 

· Prepare operational reports, project documentation, performance metrics, and contract deliverables for Government review. 

· Coordinate with Government representatives, supervisors, and functional managers to resolve operational issues and maintain customer satisfaction. 

· Ensure compliance with DLA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Control Plans, safety requirements, and audit readiness initiatives. 

· Serve as the acting Distribution Project Manager during periods of absence, exercising delegated authority to support uninterrupted contract performance.


Operational Support

· Support management of receiving, warehousing, inventory, packaging, shipping, transportation, and distribution activities. 

· Assist with workforce planning, resource allocation, procurement coordination, and operational scheduling. 

· Monitor Warehouse Management System (WMS) performance and support accurate operational reporting. 

· Track contract milestones, performance metrics, quality initiatives, and corrective action plans. 

· Support employee training, onboarding, and coordination of administrative and project management activities. 

· Assist with contingency operations, transition planning, surge support, and special projects as directed. 

· Maintain communication between project leadership, warehouse personnel, Government stakeholders, and corporate management to ensure mission success.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field. 

· Equivalent combination of education and five (5) years of Government or private-sector experience may be substituted. 

· Minimum one (1) year of management or supervisory experience supporting warehouse, logistics, distribution, or project operations. 

· Experience supporting project coordination, operational reporting, resource management, or contract administration. 

· Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, distribution processes, and automated Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). 

· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience interacting with Government customers and cross-functional teams. 

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.


Preferred Qualifications

· Experience supporting DLA Distribution or Department of Defense logistics operations. 

· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or CAPM certification. 

· Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent process improvement certification.

· Must be a US Citizen

· Must be able to pass background investigations including a FBI fingerprint check and a National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI) adjudication.
