Job DetailsJob Location: 1400 - Rochester Hills, MI 48307SUMMARY: This position fabricates and assembles a variety of prototype automotive interior properties designed and/or built at Prefix Corporation.        DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design and fabricate automotive interior soft trim Sculpture foam components Create patterns to be used to cut and trim, covering materials to fit seating and interior components Leather wrap interior components Measure and cut specified covering material Operate sewing machine to seam and join various sections of covering material Modify interior designs to meet customer specifications Coordinate materials and colors to meet specifications Maintain clean and safe work environment Assist in the maintenance of department inventories Have a firm understanding of interior trim techniques and procedures Other duties as assigned. QualificationsSuccessful, extensive background in interior prototype development with a minimum of 5 years hands-on experience.  Strong administrative and interpersonal skills require.  High School or GED equivalent required.  A certificate from an accredited technical or industrial trade school is preferred.  Needs to be a self-starter with proficiency in budgeting time and allocating resources.    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.  The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and may require repetitive use of the hands and arms.    Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
