Website:  HI-LEX.com   POSITION SUMMARY The Machinist I position is an entry level position for machining and fabricating. The individual should have basic concepts and working knowledge of measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers as well as vertical mills and lathes. The main responsibility of this position is to machine and produce products to print and/or direction. Individuals will be tasked to work with engineering and other machinists to develop products and habits conducive to company standards. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develops and Fabricates parts, fixtures, and assemblies using metal forming, machining and joining equipment Possess listening/Learning skills Good Communication skills for your development and company enhancement Fabricates, Builds, Assembles, Verifies and Maintains set-up of test fixture Performs dimensional inspections and material inspections as needed Assembles prototype products which meet customer specifications and delivery requirements Promotes an associate relations environment that is consistent with long term management objectives Possesses Mechanical Background Performs other duties as necessary 4S support   QualificationsEducation  This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.  Functional Experience Ability to read complex engineering drawings preferred. Basic knowledge of electricity and measuring equipment Basic knowledge of the properties of a variety of construction materials. Basic working knowledge of measuring equipment (Calipers, Micrometers, etc.)   Industry Experience 2 years experience is preferred Core Competencies Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate strong listening and learning skills. Basic computer proficiency (PLEX experience preferred). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective communication skills and ability to promote a positive team environment. Other Requirements Requires frequent head, neck movement and frequent arm and above the shoulder work. Lift, carry or move objects up to 50 lbs Factory environment with noise from manufacturing equipment.
