Who You Are

The Manager of Controller and Paint Hardware Development leads electrical engineering development projects and manages team resources (people, tools, and budget). Responsible for new product development and support of existing products. Oversees electrical engineering staff and works with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and FANUC on technical matters.

How It’s Done

  • Lead and manage electrical engineering projects and schedules
  • Oversee design and development of electrical systems (power, wiring, controls)
  • Ensure product testing, validation, and analysis processes
  • Manage engineering staff and department activities
  • Lead resolution of product and field issues
  • Communicate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Review and approve technical documentation
  • Support product releases and manufacturing
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and resources
  • Present project updates and product concepts
  • Support quality, cost, and process improvements
  • Work collaboratively with mechanical, software, documentation, and approvals R&D groups to complete complex robotic developments
  • Support Joint Developments between FANUC America R&D Electrical and FANUC R&D groups in Japan to create electrical robot products for a worldwide market
  • Attend regular conference calls and in-person meetings as needed with FANUC R&D groups in Japan
  • High level of personal initiative; ability to work well independently
  • Minimal travel as needed (~10%)

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience including leadership
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and components
  • Experience with robotics, automation, or PLCs
  • Familiarity with electrical design tools
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of electrical standards
  • Experience with project planning and budgeting

What Would Be Even Better

  • Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years in a management role
