The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Completes defined scope and standards of practice. Engages in environmental scanning to identify practice gaps and collaborates with others in improving practice and healthcare outcomes. Functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for Nursing Professional Development (NPD) specialty, and partner for practice transitions. Supports learning, change, professional role competence and growth, which ultimately lead to optimal patient care, population health, and protection of the public.

The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner is responsible for assessing learning needs and designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that support Nursing Practice and the URMC Clinical Enterprise. This role provides oversight of the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) program, ensuring its development and strategic direction align with departmental and organizational priorities. The NPD Practitioner serves as a certified CPI Instructor, delivering education and training, and functions as a consultant to enterprise affiliates by providing recommendations grounded in evidence-based and best-practice guidelines. In addition, the NPD Practitioner provides leadership and operational support to the CPI instructor fleet and administrative team, promoting consistent, high-quality program delivery. The role includes strategic planning, financial and resource management, and the ongoing monitoring and reporting of program outcomes to stakeholders to support accountability, continuous improvement, and organizational impact.  Master’s degree in nursing or a related educational field is required. A minimum of two years of relevant experience in education, program planning, and teaching is strongly preferred. Must be a Registered Nurse with a current license to practice in New York State. Certification as a CPI Instructor is preferred. Experience in program management and development preferred. Strong leadership and organizational skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are essential.
