Your role

Job Summary:

A Facility and Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping the facility and production equipment operating, repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. This role performs regular preventive/reactive maintenance on equipment and the facility. Facilities and Maintenance Technician requires a diverse mix of both hard and soft skills, particularly manual labor skills and machine repair, to ensure the successful execution of production activities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

The Facility and Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties: installing/troubleshooting/repairing production equipment and maintenance on the facility with an overall objective of increasing business success. Safely performing all assigned work by upholding the Environmental, Health and Safety Policy.

  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, repairing windows, door or wall repair, and changing light bulbs
  • Performing troubleshooting and repair of production related equipment (Arburgs, Makino, EDMs, Grinders, Chillers)
  • Completes routine maintenance of all equipment used in the facility (production equipment, compressors, chillers, water tower)
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures, address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems
  • Working on the building’s electricity, damaged wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
  • Groundskeeping the facility lawns or other outdoor areas in need of maintenance
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
  • Demonstrates innovation to notice problems and find solutions to fix them

Required Skills/Abilities:

The following are key skills, knowledge, and abilities that Facility and Maintenance Technician is required to have to be effective in the position:

  • Knowledge of mechanical maintenance processes
  • Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot and detect malfunctioning equipment
  • Possess the discipline to execute tasks without procrastination
  • Good time management to work at a good pace, executing work orders
  • Ability to handle basic tools
  • Knowledge of safety procedures
  • Team-oriented Self-motivated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working in and around the building
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with employees of the building in a pleasant manner

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

3+ years’ experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing production equipment and facility repairs.

Strong mechanical and electrical skills

Proven track record of maintaining Injection molding machines, Mills, EDMs, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing at a machine

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times

Visual acuity for inspections, color differentiation, reading electronic documentation

Work Environment:

Manufacturing environment requiring appropriate eye protection

Exposure to high noise levels in the work environment requiring hearing protection

Gowning and sanitation for manufacturing in a clean room

Exposure to all weather conditions
