The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Maintains 24 hour-a-day accountability for all patient care and nursing activities on assigned inpatient unit. Oversees and directs unit activities including standards development, human resource management, assessment of resource needs and utilization, staff development and communication within nursing practice as well as among other disciplines and departments. Oversees all performance improvement activities at the unit level and participates in committees at all levels within the institution.

FT position available, 40 Hours, Primarily Days, 8 hour shifts

The manager will lead a 24-bed inpatient neurology unit specializing in the care of patients with stroke, seizures, and other neurologic conditions. This unit holds a Level 4 Epilepsy Center designation, providing advanced epilepsy care to patients across New York State and the Northeast. As part of the Neuroscience Musculoskeletal Service line, the role offers opportunities for leadership development and participation in interdisciplinary decision-making. 

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, clinical expertise, effective communication, and sound management abilities. Key responsibilities include budget management, staff development, quality oversight, and supervision of nursing practice. Success requires effective collaboration with nursing staff, Neurology department leadership, physicians, and the broader healthcare team.

Requirements: 3 years of nurse leader/manager experience.  BSN required; MSN preferred is required in 5 years.
