Job Title: Addiction Therapist

Department: Outpatient Chemical Dependency

Location: Unity Hospital - 1565 Long Pond Rd, Rochester, NY 14626

Hours Per Week: 40

Schedule: Monday - Friday; Days, 8:00AM - 5:00PM

SUMMARY:

The Associate Therapist provides patient screening, orientation, case management, and basic crisis response. The Associate Addiction Therapist will also perform additional tasks as permitted by OASAS Scope of Practice which may include Intake, Group facilitation, psych education, referrals, care coordination, reporting and record keeping.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Screening of clients presenting for admission to substance use disorder programs. 
  • Intake and orientation 
  • Case management, referrals, care coordination and connection to community providers and services 
  • Provides basic crisis responses and client support pre and post admission 
  • Group facilitation as permitted under the required OASAS Scope of Practice supervision and oversight
  • Provides psychiatric and addiction education
  • Responsible for reporting and record keeping required for programs and outside stakeholders (OASAS, legal, county, grants etc.)
  • Makes collateral calls, obtaining consents
  • Engaging clients during intake and pre-admission via telephonic, video and in person methods.
  • Preparing and obtaining toxicology screens (observing)
  • Participates as a contributing member of an interdisciplinary team in coordination and delivery of patient care. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to gain CASAC-T certification in 12 months.
  • Completion of a clinical internship in chemical dependency or at least one (1) year of work experience in chemical dependency

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CASAC-P preferred
