- Teach in an innovative evidence-based graduate program with emphasis in the Family Nurse Practitioner program.
- Teach in other graduate nursing core courses (e.g. quality improvement, informatics, health assessment, evidence-based practice) and interprofessional courses commensurate with department needs.
- Maintain national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and licensure as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the State of Minnesota.
- Maintain immunizations and background study clearance and other requirements of the department and college.
- Willingness to embrace new educational and patient technologies; provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
- Contribute to student learning and development and chairing or serving on master’s scholarly paper or Doctor of Nursing Practice Project committees.
- Work effectively with health care industry and community affiliates to address graduate nursing education, research, and practice issues.
- Assist with Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education accreditation processes, program development and growth, program assessment, program evaluation, and curriculum design and delivery.
- Practice effectively through collaboration with other professionals in the health care industry and the community.
- Foster cultural intelligence, inclusive excellence, equity, and global involvement through authentic and professional relationships.
- Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.
- Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.
- Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
- Contribute to student growth and development including student advising.
- Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.

Salary Range: $64,963 - $186,620; Commensurate with Rank, Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration, or eligible for licensure, in Minnesota and Wisconsin and licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), or eligible for APRN licensure by the start date of the appointment, in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
- Earned doctorate in nursing or related field awarded prior to first duty day.
- Nationally certified as a family nurse practitioner.
- Satisfactory background study clearance as required by Minnesota statutes.
- Evidence of clinical experience as a family nurse practitioner.
- Evidence of effective communication and interpersonal skills including verbal, nonverbal and written methods.
- Evidence of formal or informal teaching in the academic, practice or community setting.
- Ability to teach in both specialty and core courses that cross programs.
- Health care provider CPR certification.
- Documentation of current immunizations, including influenza, and other verifications required for the department or those required by clinical agencies.

- Demonstrated teaching experience in subject areas such as FNP role courses, pediatrics, and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work and collaborate as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated experience in advising and supervising graduate level students.
- Demonstrated evidence of clinical scholarship, research, or creative achievement.

The Department of Graduate Nursing (DGN) faculty are an innovative, energizing group of nurses that are consistently looking for unique and pioneering methods of educating our advanced practice nurses, nurse leaders, and nurse educators. The DGN has Master’s, Doctoral, and Graduate Certificate programs offer nursing science core classes and advanced nursing practice core classes in addition to specific role courses for nurse educators, nurse leaders, nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists. In addition to clinical practica, simulation is utilized to provide a safe learning environment for students to gain confidence in their advanced roles and practice procedures in faculty presence. The learning environment encourages intercollegiate collaboration, enhancement of teaching skills and innovative use of technology.
