Manufacturing Technician – Assembly & Repair

 

Job Summary

A new exciting opportunity, with a customer focused company, is now available. We are seeking a dual-skilled Manufacturing Technician to handle both the precision assembly and technical repair of our commercial office equipment. You will build new units from the ground up and troubleshoot, diagnose, and refurbish returned or malfunctioning systems. The ideal candidate possesses strong electro-mechanical skills and enjoys fixing complex hardware problems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build new office equipment from using sequence of events documents, diagrams, and, and mechanical sub-assemblies.
  • Diagnose, tear down, and repair faulty electro-mechanical components on returned or failing units.
  • Replace defective components including motors, circuit boards, rollers, sensors, and gears.
  • Use multimeters, calipers, and diagnostic software to locate root causes of hardware errors.
  • Perform full functional testing on both newly built and repaired units to ensure factory standards.
  • Log all build tracking data, failure modes, and repair actions into the production database.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical degree or electronics certification is highly preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly, technical repair, or field service.
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to read technical schematics, parts illustrations, and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency with precision hand tools, software testing, and digital diagnostic equipment.

 

Physical Demands & Environment

  • Ability to stand, bend, and reach during assembly and tear-down processes.
  • Capability to safely lift and manipulate equipment components weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm EST. 
  • Work location is at Kodak Alaris’ Rochester Tech Park Manufacturing facility at Building 2, 777 Elmgrove Road, Rochester, NY. 
  • Position is a direct-hire position.

 

 

Compensation: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, contingent on level of experience.
