Job Summary:

Provides technical support for new and existing tooling and fixturing in order to ensure the most economical, efficient and practical methods are incorporated into the tool/fixture design. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the coordination of tool repairs and modifications.
  • Uses machine schedule as a guide in order to prepare tools for production.
  • Responsible for CNC mill setup for production departments.
  • Works with Program Managers, Molding Technicians and Quality personnel to inspect new tools.
  • Works with Production personnel to understand and inspect fixturing requirements.
  • Responsible for in-house tool preventative maintenance. 
  • Responsible for recording maintenance performed.
  • Responsible for tool storage.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • When requested, may work on special projects and various related assignments.
  • May be required to compile various reports and data tracking.
  • May be required to work in various areas of operations when necessary 
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
  • May serve as backup Process Technician

The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Two year college degree or equivalent experience in field.
  • Journeyman papers from 4 year Tooling program 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Knowledgeable in engineering protocols  
  • Basic understanding of metrology, preferably optical metrology
  • Familiar with various trade tools
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good math skills.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
