Production Worker I

Performs all assigned manufacturing tasks to ensure coordination of all production operations and products. This includes packaging, sewing, assembly, counting, stapling, etc. Promotes a safe working environment and follows the Organization’s values.   

All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of manufacturing, where training has been provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Attributes:
   1. Shifts jobs when needed, to help fulfill production needs.
   2. Maintains work schedule at hire date.
   3. Adheres to the organization’s values.
   4. Performs all other duties as assigned when needed.
2. Production & Quality system Requirements:
   1. Understands the ISO quality statement and ISO objectives.
   2. Can explain how they contribute positively to Goodwill of the Finger Lakes’ Quality system.
   3. Follows’ all written procedures, processes and work instructions.
   4. Maintains a clean, safe and organized work area.
   5. Reports all potential product issues to supervisor or team lead.
   6. Follows the Non-Conforming material procedures.                             

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  

EDUCATION and /or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). One-year experience in production preferred.  

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Must be able to interact and communicate appropriately and effectively with all levels of employees, customers and outside guests. 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one (1) or two (2) step instructions.  Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables, as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be reasonably mobile. The employee must have the use of hands and arms, and be able to work in a variety of situations, some of which may require kneeling, bending, crouching and standing for periods of time.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, depending on job assignment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently work near moving mechanical parts or be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
