Summary Purpose for the Position

The Real Estate Development Financial Analyst will assist the SVP of Real Estate Development and Director of Real Estate Development in all aspects of affordable real estate development projects. The Analyst will participate in multiple projects in various stages of development. This position demands strong financial skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills. 


Requirements (Education, Experience, Certification, Knowledge, Skill)

BA or BS in Finance, Business, Real Estate, Accounting, or related field. Graduate Degree preferred. 

2+ year relevant real estate or finance experience. Affordable Housing finance experience preferred

Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills

Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal communication skills.

Strong familiarity with MS Office software, with demonstrated proficiency using Excel for complex financial analysis.

Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet required deadlines.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexible and adaptable; able to complete a wide variety of tasks within varying timeframes.

Resourceful; proactive; eager to learn, tackle problems, and take on new responsibilities.


Position Responsibilities

Assist in the completion of funding applications, including state and local Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), various capital funding sources including 4% tax exempt bonds and 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), and other public and private lender opportunities

Analyze and interpret complex legal and financial documents, including audits, loan documents, regulatory agreements, operating agreements, and organizational documents. 

Perform analysis related to tax credit syndication and debt placement. Evaluate debt and equity proposals and make recommendations. 

Assist in the coordination and preparation of documents related to construction closings and permanent conversions, participate in closing calls

Participation in underwriting project feasibility, including the creation of development and operating budgets, along with the collection of necessary supporting documentation

Prepare predevelopment and construction finance draws for payment, including coordination with Lenders 

Participate in design meetings and design development for projects

Develop and maintain a strong understanding of funding programs and requirements

Coordinate across multiple departments, including Finance, Property Management, and Asset Management, to obtain information necessary for development projects 

Other relevant real estate development related duties as assigned.


Working Conditions/Environment

Requires flexible work hours, including regular overnight and out-of-state travel.  

There is minimal risk of exposure to hazardous building materials or disease agents.


Transportation Requirement 

Position requires automobile, driver’s license and insurance.
