Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) is seeking a Senior Manager, Bid & Proposal Systems to lead the end-to-end proposal process across Commercial, Defense, and Emerging Markets & Technology programs. This role functions as the operational "center of gravity" for all RFI, ROM, and Proposal activity, including: development of clear work standards and processes, overseeing pricing governance, validating Basis of Estimate completeness, managing approval workflows through the executive level in accordance with the organization delegation of authority, and ensuring compliant, compelling, and on-time submissions. The Senior Manager will lead a matrix of cross-functional team leaders to achieve results. U.S. Defense industry experience and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance are required.

Job Responsibilities:
Bid & Proposal System Ownership & Governance
Serve as AEC’s process owner for the Bid & Proposal System, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and approvals for all RFI, ROM, and Proposal activities. Maintain configuration control and manage the virtual/physical workspace for proposal execution. Capture lessons learned and continuously refine estimating and proposal processes to reflect best practices.
Pricing & Estimate Validation
Work with cross-functional SMEs to validate the completeness of Basis of Estimate inputs, pricing models, schedules, and all required inputs in accordance with standard work. Review and support functional BOEs to ensure sound assumptions, accuracy, and consistency.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Coordinate regularly with leaders from Business Development, Strategic Accounts Management, Program Management, Finance, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Pricing, and Contracts.
Qualifications/Characteristics:

   U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience (Master’s or proposal management certification preferred).
• 5+ years developing RFIs, ROMs, and Proposals across cost-type and fixed-price environments for DoD and commercial aerospace programs.
• 3+ years leading or managing large, complex proposal efforts.
• Experience spanning all product development proposal phases—from technology maturation through full-rate production.
• Strong understanding of FAR/DFARS requirements at prime and subcontract levels.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Project).
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities; able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing and able to travel up to 25% as required.

Office environment, duties performed indoors, moderate to quiet noise and comfortable temperatures. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions levels. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations require. Some may be able to do part of their work remotely. Travel may be required.
