About this opportunityÂ
This position will act as an integral part of the Accounting team to develop and maintain efficient and compliant accounting practices. This position will prepare the monthly and yearly closing processes maintain accounting records used for business forecasting and decision-making. The Senior Staff Accountant will also develop, propose, and implement process improvements. This position is additionally responsible for providing auxiliary support for other Accounting department functions.
What your role will look likeÂ
- Process month-end and year-end close procedures to ensure timely preparation of financial information.Â
- Analyze spreadsheet reports, verify information, prepare journal entries, and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain the general ledger and fixed asset records, review financial statements, research accounts, and analyze financial records.
- Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of the operating budget and performance projections.
- Analyze current accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures and recommend changes for improvement.
- Prepare internal reports to assess organizational success and external reports to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Complete annual 1099 issuance as well as regular maintenance of vendor files.Â
- Crosstrain within Accounting department and perform auxiliary functions as needed.
- Be receptive to and successfully complete other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring to this role
- Education: B.S. in AccountingÂ
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
