 What You’ll Do

As a Speech-Language Pathologist you will support students in individual and group therapy sessions per Individual Education Plan (IEP) requirements as well as supporting classroom and residential teams in the carryover of therapeutic supports across all 24-hours of the individual's day. In addition to direct therapy, you will conduct formal standardized evaluations, conduct observational assessments, train staff in wraparound strategies, conduct observations and skill assessments in the residential units, mentor, and coach direct care staff, attend and participate in CSE and residential planning meetings, support family skill development for carryover and develop treatment plans with commensurate goals for each individual.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Evaluating communication skills to include: receptive language, expressive language, articulation, voice, fluency, oral-motor skills and hearing.
  • Developing a comprehensive service plan according to program policies and regulations, including school, outpatient, etc.
  • Providing therapy as outlined by treatment plan of communication disorders of Individual Treatment Plan/Individual Education Plan.
  • Maintaining professional standards in and out of the Center in compliance with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Code of Ethics.
  • Instructing and counseling students/clients and/or their families regarding the specific nature of their communications impairments and how to best deal with this in various speaking situations.
  • Attending IEP meetings, staffing, case conferences and department meetings
  • Maintaining appropriate records: progress notes and reports, evaluations, plans, case conference reports and discharge summaries.
  • Getting and tracking insurance authorizations when applicable.
  • Completing departmental program evaluation in accordance with agency policy and procedures
  • Functioning as a case manager and assisting in coordinating and obtaining other needed services.

You’re a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Master’s degree or its equivalent in the field of Speech Pathology
  • Hold Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech/Hearing Association
  • Current state Speech/Language Pathologist license (required)
  • Three (3) plus years of experience working with children as a speech/language pathologist.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Compensation

  • $75,000 - $85,000/year
