Job Description: Spot Welder

Position Summary

The Spot Welder is responsible for operating resistance spot welding equipment to join metal components according to engineering specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product integrity, safety, and on-time delivery in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate spot welding machines and related equipment safely and efficiently
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production schedules
• Align and position parts using fixtures, clamps, and measuring tools
• Inspect welds for quality, strength, and appearance
• Perform basic quality checks using calipers, gauges, and visual inspection methods
• Maintain required production rates while meeting quality standards
• Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE
• Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards)
• Assist in other production tasks as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous manufacturing or welding experience preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and follow written/verbal instructions
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to use hand tools and measuring devices
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Repetitive hand and arm movements
• Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of metal components

Work Environment

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and metal materials
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Pay Range: $20-$22/hour
